The structure of this work reflects the profile of the research and the theoretical base for the research. Therefore the book contains chapters on various aspects of music, language pedagogy, and vocabulary in glottodidactics. The book is divided into seven chapters. The first chapter is devoted to the analysis of various theories concerning the origins of music and language. First, Peter Marler’s (2000) and Thomas Geissmann’s (2000) analogies between human and animal vocal communication systems are discussed. Then Jean Molino’s (2000) and Steven Brown’s (2000) hypotheses postulating a common origin of music and language are presented against the background of Charles Darwin’s (1871) evolutionary theory.
